The truth of ALL things
I’ve been pretty stressed over a wedding dress. I enjoy sewing for people I love, but wedding dresses are once in a lifetime memories. And, the brides never seem to say, “Grandma, I found a standard pattern I really like!” Rather, they find an assortment of pictures and want the sleeves like this but shorter, the front draped like that, this huge medallion lace on a dainty little body….it’s a challenge.
Twice now I’ve gotten to the end of a sewing day tired and frustrated in my efforts to recreate the dream, close to tears, and said a despairing prayer and tried to sleep. Each time I woke with a clear mental picture of exactly how to create the magic, and dresses have been just what a young girl wanted.
We talk a lot about revelation to understand truth, to avert disaster, to follow the covenant path, to help a loved one. I also have a sure testimony that revelation is available for the small things, the daily choices, even the moments that matter only to one grandma and one young woman.
Our Father absolutely loves to give us what we ask for, even if it’s not connected to salvation and is purely an earthly thing for a short moment. And He loves to teach us to look to Him in every thought, and doubt not and fear not. The Holy Ghost really can teach us the truth of ALL things!
