I Can’t Wait!
Recently I found one of my first attempts at keeping a journal. I noted then that my most urgent goals were to be organized and be patient.
Fifty years later, I’d probably list those items again, if I were organized enough to set new goals and patient enough to write them down! I think these traits of character still elude me, although if I’m kind to myself I can see progress.
I just read an article in an old Ensign,
July 2012, entitled “Waiting on the Lord”, and I’ve been pondering its insights. I especially like this quote:
“The same amount of time will pass whether I am squandering it in anger and impatience or using it to serve the Lord and His children. Choosing to “wait upon the Lord”—or viewed another way, to serve Him—yields far more satisfying results.”
I’m waiting more patiently now that I think of the other use of the word WAIT. Looks like I can be more patient, and wait a bit more, after all!
