Every once in a while, and too often,  I hear someone say, “I know God doesn’t give us any more than we can handle, but….”  and then go on to describe a really difficult or overwhelming challenge that they’re experiencing. 

I usually bite my tongue to keep from challenging that concept so that I can listen. Listening is often the only help I can give. 

But it makes me sad that people believe that partial truth, and I wish everyone who has been told that had heard the rest of the story.

God has given me plenty that I can’t handle! And, because I want to spend every effort to grow, I try to receive the load with gratitude, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Because of the enabling power that is part of the Atonement, I can be borne up and strengthened enough to grow into and through the challenge! 

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
